This is my first post! Hoorah!

Ok, in seriousness, I have a couple issues with my new 1996 Honda Civic Si. Not major ones, hopefully.

1. The speedometer does not read properly, it will show I am doing over 110 KPH, when in fact I'm only doing about 30 kph. It also will not come down quickly, but sluggishly, when I decelerate. The first three odometer numbers (XXX123, where X represents the numbers I am speaking of) are hovering in the middle, rather than on the proper numbers. The engine light came on when this started happening. Any ideas?

2. Looked under the hood and there are numbers and writing in Japanese on my engine's valve cover in crayon...!? It says D16A. The other stickers on the engine are all in Japanese. Thus I cannot read them. Is this an engine that has been swapped into my car at some point? Why would someone do this? What engine is this really? Are parts hard to find? I thought it had the original engine when I bought it. I can take pictures and post if needed!

Otherwise, car is in good shape, not sure if Hondas normally have such sloppy, long throw clutches stock though...

Would love some info!
