Rep Power: 0 Honda bogs when I push excelerator
My '99 civic bogs mdown when I push the excelerator. My check engine light is on the code it reads is a bad o2 sensor. I assumed that would fix it,but was told by a mechanic that wouldn't cause the problem i'm having. It has only stahled out once when i try to take off from a stop it doesn't want to go at first the CEL flashes until it shifts. PLEASE HELP!!!

it could be the 02 sensor causing it. I would fix that and go from there. a flashing cel is never good. usually means something is majorly wrong. last time mine flashed was from misfire

Same here. Misfire explains the bogging down too, less power when not all cylinders are firing. The misfire code should show up when scanned though.
Ignition cap and rotor might be a good place to check first, plugs and wires if those parts are fine. If it has been misfiring for a while it could have messed up the cat and/or O2 sensors because it is dumping unburnt fuel into the exhaust.
