Car Jerking

Hey guys I'm new to this fourm and looking for some help. I have a 97 civic and when I drive it sometimes it just starts to jerk out of no where. I'm not pumping the clutch or anything and it just happens randomly. I just got a new stage 1 clutch installed a little over a month ago and the jerking is starting to happen now. I don't know how to describe it really but the best that I can do is that around 20-30mph it just starts to jerk back and forth. Even when I shift gears it still continues to stay around the 20-30 mph range and doesn't increase speed.

Re: Car Jerking

I had a similar problem with my car, it too started jerking randomly, it was like I was losing power for a split second. Asked a few people and most suggested changing the fuel filter so I did and I haven't had that problem ever since.

If you decide to replace it, take the old filter off and blow through it and compare it to a new one. If it's not too restricted, you may not even need to replace it, but it's somewhere to start and it's only a $20 part.
