I've started removing parts from the head when I came across a connection that was hard to get off. It's directly below the distributor (1997 Civic LX D16Y7) and next to the heater hose. What is this? Out of curiosity, what is the proper way of removing this? The part is pictured below.
In case you can't tell, I'm pretty sure I broke the damn thing. After the black wire was removed, I tried turning the rest of it with a socket wrench but it will only come out about an inch and stops. Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: I changed the picture.

it has to do with coolant temps I believe. it is either the ecu signal wire or the gauge wire. I would bet its for your gauge tho. if im wrong someone please correct me.

Thats what I thought too, but its not the gauge sensor, the sensor you pulled out in front of that one is the ECT sensor that runs to the gauge in the dash. and it's not the relay switch because that's on the the thermostat housing.

maybe its for the ecm. I just pulled mine and started the car. waiting for a cel. got no cel but also had no temp either. hooked it back up and temp gauge started working.
