removing a crankshaft position sensor

i know this sounds kind of dumb, but this thing seems to not want to come un plugged. is there a special trick to getting it out? it needs to be changed before i can sell this car, so my starting problems will be fixed. i dont want to have a mechanic do it but if i have to take it in i will. any advice would be appreciated.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: removing a crankshaft position sensor

The wires are attached to the crankshaft sensor.
It unplugs up by the alternator/intake manifold corner area.

Re: removing a crankshaft position sensor

Oh, I get it now.
If you are trying to separate the two halves of the wiring connector, first remove the connector from its mounting tab. On many versions of the connectors, the metal tab locks them together.

Just a guess, HTH
