97 civic power door locks don't work

Recently my 97 civic 4 door power door locks stopped working. The problem started several weeks ago when none of the locks would work with the remote or the door switch. They work by manually locking them. I checked the fuse and it was ok. Then I found that if I shook the door lock **** on the front drivers door or slammed the door closed they would all start working again. For several weeks they have been working on and off. Now they don't work at all. Based on what I have experienced, it seems like the drivers door lock controls all the other locks. If it works they all work. Has anyone had this problem? I will probably have to take the door panel off and see what is going on. Can anyone tell me how to remove this panel without destroying it?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
