Hello civicforums.com my first post :P
ok I bought this car few weks ago.. everything went well till 4 days into owning it, I experienced isues..
FIRST:
I was on the freeway.. started stuttering while accelerating, then the check engine light went on, then when it came on.. the engine temp gaudge started acting wierd.. going HOT.. then drops to cold.. then Hot again.. up and down... //
took it to AAMCO they said 5 codes came up all 4 cylinders are misfiring and a "misc" mis-fire (he had no idea what the misc mis-fire was) ... they told me could be anything from tuneup or cylinder adjustment.. $110 to look at it lol
So a few days later I put new tires and alignment
(got these done first b4 the mis-fires because I wanted a second opinion)
then all the sudden the check engine light is no longer on!! (what the hell)... but the car temp gauge still gets hot.. but the car isnt overheating.. (visually at least) no smoke comming from the hood or nothing.
any suggestions?
misc mis-Firing code..
does it have something to do with the temp gauge jumping? if so, is it an easy fix?

You sure they didn't just clear the codes? If the temp gauge is still showing signs of overheating though, I would check the thermostat, radiator, the cap, and the ECT. Hard to say. Is the car still actually misfiring?

it was weird.. when I got my tires/alignment done the codes disappeared.. within minutes from driving away.. (maybe my car was happy to get better shoes?? lol I dunno)
yeah the temp gauge still jumps, shows its overheated but no signs of it. (smoke from the hood? or loss of power)
I figured the gauge was just screwed up... but at the same time dont wanna make things worst...
/e sorry didnt answer your question about misfiring.. a: no its not stuttering on the freeway like it was.
its just the temp gauge has me concerned because it will go completely to hot. all the way up... but no signs of overheating ..
inside I wanna just ignore the problem.. but at the same time? should I be concerned?
I dont fell like paying someone 110$ to tell me there opinion.
times are ruff as it is.

Usually it could be something very small, like a sensor, you didnt mention anything about the fans or if you still have any kind of check engine light on, Check to see if the fans are turning on properly. If they are , open the hood and let the car cycle for a while check if the car is overheating when the gauge goes up. 110??? wow I know a spot, That specializes in Honda, they charged me like 40 $ to diagnose and if you repair with them they credit it towards the fix.

Did you make sure your fluids are all topped off? Sometimes that is the issue. I had to add more cooling fluid recently when I noticed my temp gauge rather higher then normal. All good now. Even check where the temp sensor is (Im not familiar with that though). Im wondering if it could be sitting where it shouldn't be, but I could be wrong...

dude i got the same problem on one of my civic, what ive done :
flush all fluids, then change : thermostat, that sensor right on the side of the thermostat and that ect, u will see, and do the gauge only heat when your not rolling? or really anytime?

Here we go simple as that,
<a href="http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a66/Juda_911/?action=view&current=THERMOSTATCHANGING.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a66/Juda_911/THERMOSTATCHANGING.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
and after u put all theese back, check coolant level and everything will be fine
