Shifter Linkage Leaking

Just bought my first Honda two days ago. Bought it used so I figured there would be a few minor leaks and other minor problems.
Got under the car a few days ago and noticed that the shifter linkage boot is not attached and the transmission is leaking oil from where the linkage connects. I figure it just needs a new seal but I'm not sure yet.
Hopefully it's the seal cuz the part is only like 10 bucks.
What I'm wondering is if it is the seal how much would a typical shop charge to replace it. I've heard it's a pain to take off and I don't want to go through all the trouble if it's not gonna be too expensive at the shop.
Any input would be great. Thanks
