Rep Power: 0 o2 sensor or o2 sensor wire?
Now that I'm typing this, I think the answer to my question is "no", but here it is anyway.
I have a '97 Civic EX with about 130k miles on it. The Check Engine Light (CEL) had come on and thrown the code to replace the secondary O2 sensor. After buying the sensor from Advance Auto and trying to replace it myself, I had to bring it to a shop because I couldn't get the old one off. They replaced it, reset the CEL, and I've been driving it just fine for the past week.
Yesterday the car freaked out (dash lights blinking, speedometer flying all of the place) and finally stalled. It started up, but then did the same thing and stalled. I was able to put it in a high gear and keep the RPMs high and race it home.
I checked the CEL # and it threw the following codes (I'm "assuming" my description of the codes are correct):
-65: Secondary oxygen sensor heater wire (Black wires)
-17: VSS - speed sensor
-20: Electrical load detector
-41: primary oxygen sensor heater
So I'm assuming it's all related. I pulled the backup fuze to reset the computer, but the car did the same thing after I put the fuze back in. Is a "sensor heater wire" a separate piece from the actual O2 sensor, or is it the same thing? Any tips on how to attack this would be great.
