Rep Power: 0 Transmission Mistake; Wrong Bolts
Ok I started out to save myself some money and I think I may have hurt myself instead. I'm replacing the engine in the wife's Honda. I got the engine and transmission removed and was in the process of separating the pair. Some how when I was working to late a few weeks ago I removed two bolts that I had no reason to remove. I really don't know what I was thinking at the time they're no where near where I was working. They are in the top of the transmission and are hollow I guess transmission fluid pumps through them. Neither of the bolts will fit back into there holes. Something I'm guessing inside has shifted. I did some googling and could not find a rebuild manual or an exploded diagram. I came here out of desperation hoping someone here has transmission experience. I'm attaching pics the problem bolts and there location. If anyone is able to point my towards some information that might yield a solution I would be very grateful. Thanks for reading this.

It looks like one of the bolts has a feed hole or holes drilled into them. It's hard to say since I'm on my phone viewing the page. That's really odd that they won't go back into their respective holes. I'll try and look once I get to my pc some time tonight.

They're "line bolts". They hold the ATF cooler lines to the tranny and allow flow of the ATF. The manual just says to remove when taking apart and to just install when re-assembling.

Thank-you I had to take a 3 week break after pulling the engine and I forgot those are the for the transmission line. Nothing wrong than Thanks. Something very similar happened to me on the lower end of a boat a few months back so see this brought be back to a worse time. Solved
