What brand tranny fluid are you all using when you drain the old stock fluid...
I plan on going synthetic, so what brand should I use??

If you plan on going synthetic, check out Redline's brand of transmission fluid. I had it in my car and absolutely loved it. You just have to make sure it's the right rating or you could destroy your transmission.

Stick with honda genuine or redline as these are proven to give the best results
On a side note:
Remy; i know you're new and all, so I will notify you this time.
Please keep your problems in one thread instead of making 50 new threads,
It keeps members from having to jump around threads to help you with all your problems
And creates less spam for moderators to monitor
Thanks

Thanks for the notification...that is different than what I thought...
(IMO)
New threads with one individual problem and a quick answer or relative info to the problem, makes it easier for someone to search, find the thread, easily locate the answer they are looking for. (Instead of reading through a long post with multiple problems intertwined together)

Yeah, but clutches, tranny fluid, spark plugs can all be grouped into one topic:
8th gen maintenance
Youve asked the same question in 3 topics, so just a heads up, try to keep everything in one thread.
Understandably if you have an issue now, and a week down the road you come up with a different issue you can open a new thread, but all in one day, not so much
As my job as moderator on this forum, it is to keep my eye out for whether someone is intentionally spamming, or just new
Not trying to be mean, just doin my job

However, let's say that same person has an 8th gen with 185k miles on it; they will open the thread that asks about 8th Gen LX Clutch Life and say "I have 185,000 miles on my 2006 LX Civic.
That user would never see that question or be able to add their info if all these questions are lumped into one thread that is all over the place with questions.
I guess I could have created a thread that just said "Civic questions" and had a long list. (A missing problem and how long does your clutch last threads are completely different)
Which same question is this?

Forum regulars often check topics and if they reply, they usually subscribe to those threads. Most of us here can answer most questions asked in a single thread as we will read the entire post and help to the best of our knowledge. The mods are just trying to keep things organized. Don't take it as a dig, man. They're just doing their job.

I drained and filled my transmission with Mobil One and the transmission shifted smoother.
I also used prestone 5 years ago in the radiator and it has not blown up.
I use Valvoline DOT 3-4 synthetic brake fluid and it still stops.
Perhaps I am on borrowed time reading how important it is to
only use Honda products.

the MTF fluid does not have to be honda, redline or any other synthetic will be fine. the brake fluid can be just about anything if it is rated dot3, valvoline syn is one of the best. coolant is important, the honda stuff does have a different mixture that is important for keeping the system in good shape and the only other alternative is the xerex import coolant. the ATF fluid on newer civics 2010+ should be honda dw1, on older vehicles the z1 is discontinued and valvoline maxlife is a good substitute. power steering i would stick with the honda stuff too, it has special additives to keep the system from leaking and making noise and operating better in the cold. coolant and ps are the only two you really should stay with honda fluids.
