component fit

after searchin for my components up front im seein alot of 7" midranges....will these fit?? for ex. the oz audio matrix 180cs and the focal polykevlar 165k2....on sound domain (where i was lookin) they do not have any info on our car to check the fit To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

the Focals will fit with a 1" Spacer and shaving off the plastic ring inside your door panel.. the Oz 8" set will require you to cut the mounting hole in your door larger..which is what I had to do to fit in my Rainbows..it's a pain..

oz 8"??? the ones i was talkin about were 7"s but sounds like the same kinda poop to get those as the focals......so what is the best sq components that would fit perfectly

There is no best....it's different for everyone depsnding on the characteristics of your ears and perception...the easiest fit would probably be MBQ QSD's seeing as they use a small basket with neodynium magnets..but the tweeters would have to be mounted off axis fro proper performance.. Focals have a somewhat harsh tweeter no matter what you do. Oz's work best in small sealed enclosures and not free air..their still grear free air..but get better in about .15cu.ft sealed. which is how they got IASCA's first perfect score. Mounted in the doors. with the weakeness of the door panels and metal you'll never get truly great sound... But what your ears like that will fit..[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]
