HO Alternator Advice

So I bought one of these:

It's a 180a singer 6 phase denso. I'm going to attempt to install it myself, I guess I'm just asking on here to see if anyone knows if I'm gonna have issues with the new pulley being so small.

I feel like this is a shot in the dark because I don't know how many people put high outputs alts in these. Thanks.

So lol of course I foresaw the issue. Everything's in and running but squealing like a bitch. Now I gotta see about finding a smaller belt.

Re: HO Alternator Advice

if the tensioner will not tighten it far enough then get a belt about 1/2 inch shorter

Re: HO Alternator Advice

Took your advice and got it all sorted out. Hopefully this thread will help someone in the future who's installing one.

Its really not that high powered, a pioneer 9601d, 1643RMS and a rockford 500x for all four highs. Thats it, So i got a 130 amp denso, and it never goes under 12.4 any more, but i would like it to stay high. Already have 2/0 big 3 ELD Gone,

So far so good. It's only been about 3 weeks. Took it on a 4 hour trip the other day and everything seems to be working beautifully. The sub frequencies hit with authority due to the steady voltage. So far I'm a happy customer.

and yes, I have a couple of decent sized amps being the reason I got one lol
