Power locks and dome light only work with ignition on???

As the title states, my power locks and dome light on my 2002 Civic LX 2 coupe only work with the ignition in the "on" position. I just bought the car and noticed this problem. Also my car doesnt beep when I leave the lights on or the key in the ignition...any ideas? To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: Power locks and dome light only work with ignition on???

It is the "back up" fuse in the under hood box.

It should fix the key alert as well, If not check the drivers door plunger switch.

Re: Power locks and dome light only work with ignition on???

I've got the same problem, except it is just the dome light that won't work. I used a voltmeter and got no reading from the plug itself until I turned the car on. I've checked all the fuses, they're fine.

I'm thinking my main problem is the part with the switch at least. Looks melted from the side that faces the roof of the car, I attached a picture of it.

But I figured the plug would at least have constant power even if the car is off, since its operating as a switch.

i think you just melted too much of it to fix. just look for a new piece on ebay.

Re: Power locks and dome light only work with ignition on???

^^^^I would start with a new domelight assembly it should solve it.

The bulbs are supplied constant power and the ground is provided either at the switch for "on" or through the multiplex for "door".
