Where is the parking signal control for DVD unit?

Hello guys!

I've just fitted a Kenwood DNX5220 in my 7th gen Civic. At the moment, it does not allow me to watch DVD cos the parking terminal has not been properly wired. Where could I find the parking signal control in my Civic? In addition, I am also planning to install a reverse camera. Hence, I will also need to find the reverse gear control? Any ideas?

I am a newby in this and I would appreciate any advice. Many thanks!

Mine i hooked under the center console. there is a wire there by the e-brake cable (sorry no picture). Yea I tried to do it the other way, but since its a gps one it tells me there is something wrong because the car is moving and the e-brake is up. good luck.

Yeah you can do what the others said and just ground it or you can ground it to the parking brake. Another option is setting a relay up and hook the signal wire to your park gear selector, if it is an automatic, and have the source wire be a ground. As for the back-up camera, they should be able to be viewed at any time but if the unit requires it to only be in reverse, then you can tap the reverse wire in the gear selector or if you have a manual, you will need to find a backup light to tap into. If you don't feel comfortable doing this stuff yourself there are plenty of people willing to help explain further or even go as far as to help you install. Good luck with your goals.

Thanks for all your replies guys! As you all suggested, I grounded the parking sensor wire to the negative port of the cigarette lighter, and it WORKED!!! It's that easy! Now I'll just have to wait for my reverse cam to arrive (bought one on eBay just now). I'll keep posting if I manage to find the reverse gear control. My Civic is manual by the way.
