Aux input advice.

I have a Pioneer HU in the car and the truck. I just got a portable XM device w/ a FM transmitter and also have a laptop the finacee uses to play DVDs that we take on long trips. Ideally I want to skip the FM transmitter and directly input the signal from either one into my HU.

I just ordered the pigtails that goes into both HUs that allows me to drive the Aux input on the HU via RCAs. I can get a simple splitter to convert the RCAs to a single headphone jack.

My question is how are people going about finishing this off. I don't want to have a cord just sticking out of my dash that I can plug into. I'd like something more professional looking. I found this at Radio Shack. I could mount this in the dash, but I don't want to get into all the soldering and I worry about it catching electrical interference since it is open.

Any suggestions on what to do here?

Re: Aux input advice.

If I had something like this, but with the outside of the pic I posted before that would be perfect. It would be a simple plug in behind the dash as well as a simple plug into the dash with a nice finished look.

I have a wire running from under the console next to my seat under the parking brake. Works quite well. I have a 6 foot cord so it will reach anywhere in the car and when not in use I can just slide it between the seat and the center console and no one knows its there.
