just make sure the ESR rating is low, and the capacitance is high.

I would take a "low ESR, low capacitance" cap over a "high ESR, VERY HIGH capacitance" cap.

ESR = electrical series resistance. its just another way to rate capacitors, just like capacitance.

capacitance is rated in "farads", while ESR is rated in "ohms".

so you might see two capacitors. one may say ESR is .0004 ohms, and capacitance is 1F. The other might say its capacitance is 50F, and its ESR is 2 ohms.

the superior cap is the first one, because of its lower ESR.

you can find ESR in the fine print.

to paraphrase: I could make a useful post, but ill just make a uesless one instead.

I suggest in the future, you just not make a post at all, if you arent willing to "add" to the discussion.

Have you upgraded your battery and wiring yet? I'd have to advocate replacing the battery with a spiral cell type battery, and doing the big 3 befoer buying a cap, as you may not have a desire for a cap after that, as the dimming may go away with a better battery. Caps are never needed. They're there to help and to be a bandaid between the battery and the amp. They aren't fixes that are guranteed. I'll gurantee you a battery will have an effect. I can't make that gurantee with a cap, it's more of a trial and error thing. It may effect it and it might not. You'll have to hook it up and see.

What do you mean your pay pal is down? You can set it up through your checking account and your credit card. So if you can write a check you can use paypal. I would rather not take a personal check. Too many misunderstandings could pop up.

a battery is a bandaid, too never forget that!

When you get a scrape, do you wrap your injury in an ace bandage and splint it?

....I use a band-aid!

I'd say, depending on whats going on with the system, the cap comes higher on the pecking order than the battery! Right between big 3 and battery, in opinion
