What subwoofer setup do you think will be better?

Do you think having 1 12" Alpine type R or having 2 12" infinity perfect 12? To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

I have 1 Type-R 12" woofer with an Alpine MRD-M605 Amp and it rocks pretty good, it's in a sloted/vented enclosure though. I think it might rock a bit more in a sealed enclosure. The Infinity 12's look beefy though, too. Why would you only get 1 vs. 2 though? You can have the Alpine's for less than $100 pc. on eBay...

I've got a single Alpine R-type 10" in my car. I love it. It sounds great even in a sealed box. It would sound louder in a slotted, but I have enough sound dampening to do with just this sub. I only have one sub because I still need my trunk space. Check out my pic to see my trunk!

is it sealed or ported?
wat u lookin for? sq? spl? sql?

maximum spl = 1 type r 12 in a proper ported box with liek 800 watts going to it
maximum sq = 2 12" perfects sealed
maximum sql = 2 12" perfects sealed

those are all within reason, sure u can make two perfects louder if u put 2 12's ported, but that will result in minimal trunkspace etc..
