high output alternator

my system keeps shorting out or something at like 20 on the Alpni HU. and i was wondering where i can get a higher alternator since i have a 13W7 and 1000 watt JL amp. i think my laternator is shot. i need some good places to get like a 180 amp alternator.....????....any help will be greatly appreciated...holla! i'm running a jl 500/1 300/4 Clarion DVD etc HU and still don't have a issue I think you might just need to add a cap in. After I installed my Aluma Pro 5 Farad cap there have been no issues at all. Unless you happen to just strain your alternator to much and it was weak to begin with.

Are you sure thats the alternator? I had a Alpine 9847 that the power kept going out on before I got a sub and 800W RMS amp. I had to replace it 3 times before the problem was solved.

if your alternator is pooched your car will shut off completetly, not just your sound system... check your install first to see what the problem is. a cap will most likely not fix it, so keep that as a last resort

is the car on or off when its doing this?

also, make sure the ground is good, thats a common problem, where is it grounded?

I agree with the grounding problem. I had my XM Radio ground work loose somehow and it would randomly short my system out until I found the problem.
