Alarm help for door unlock and lock

i recently got a alarm from a friend and i dont no what kind or anything. my first qestions is that it has a green wire that goes to the (-lock output) which i was told is the white blue wire behind hte driver kick panel. it also has a a blue wire which is the (-unlock output) which i was told was the white green wire. i made htese conections and when i arm and un arm the alarm the dorrs to not lock or unlock. i was told i may need a relay but i saw a diy posted on here about install a DEI keyless entry and it doesnt show a realy. i f anyone could help it would really help me out. i have been trying to figure this out for a few days

yep they may need relays, First off what car/year, Second what alarm is it excactly. Did you test the wires your on with a digital multi meter, do you have DMM if not radio shack has them for 35.00. A little more info..

Once we have established that your on the right wires, I'll show you how to wire a relay for lock / unlock, You'll 2 of them.

the box he gave to me says "impulse" if that helps the car is a 2003 civic sedan . and im almost postive im on the right wires because when i first put them to gether they unlock and lock the doors. thats y i figured i needed relays and i didnt know how to wire them or what one i needed

thanks for the help so what kind of relay and to what wire and such . i have refered to directwire when i first put the alarm in i jsut need to know how to wire the relay and what kind a where i can get it

are you sure the alarm is outputting ground on arm and disarm? I have never had to use relays on any honda using a quality alarm, because honda lock wires are sensitive.

I don't think using a door lock relay or two relays would help anything, not in a 7thgen.

thats what i heard from a few people to . is there anyway u can post how you wired and at what location u taped into them on. its werid because when i first touch them together to connect them they unlock my door or lock my door

The alarms we install at work have built in relays so you don't have to go through the hassle of wiring in your own unless the locks are reverse polarity (in which our cars arent) so you won't need those. I'm not sure about the alarm you're using so it's hard to give you advice on what to do. I went behind the fuse box.

Thats what I figured, mine didnt need relays. Have you tested the output of the alarm? do you have a DMM?

I didn't need to test the output. Our alarms come with both positive and negative outputs so it's pretty straight forward for whatever car we're putting it on. If a car needs a negative pulse for the lock/unlock, we'll just pull out the positive pulsing wire because it'll just get in the way and we're not using it an yways. Yes I have three DMMs actually and an analog multimeter as well although I don't use that one very much.

in rare occassions, the positive output of the locks interfere with the operation(when you lock, lock goes ground, unlock goes 12v+) you could just diode isolate them, so that the car only sees ground.

alright everyone is giving good imfo but can anyone provide a wire diagram usasing relays i have two of them.this way i can try that before i try diode isolating them
