LCD question?

more and more people are having LCD's on their car, they look sweet....

however here are my questions?
1. Are they easy to install? or do dey just plug in da cigarrette lighter compartment, jus like other car accessories?
2. if they are not cigarette lighter powered? how do you install it or how much would it cost?
3.are they permanent inside da car or are they detachable?

please help, i tried to do a search but i only got one related topic....... LCD in a car is just a sweet mod dat i could do this xmas if everything goes smooth. hehehehehe. im more interested in my own comfort, rather than show&go.

please respond ASAP........... in da meantime, ill start saving $$$

I have an Alpine CVA-1005 in my car and truck. They are fairly simple to install if you read the directions.
I prefer the Alpine over any other unit but I am biased too. Anyways. They do not detach nor do they plug into a
cigarette lighter. They install the same way that you would a new cd palyer. They are 1 din size and will fit into your
factory radio spot. There are many different kinds out there. Just goto a sound shop i.e. Hi-Fi Buys, Best Buys, what not
and talk to a sales rep to see what is in your price range ....

Ask your self this;

Is it just going to be a radio and cd player?
Am I going to have any extras i.e. DVD player, playstation, VCR, etc....
If so the def. go with the Alpine either CVA-1006 or the CVA -1008 (this unit has a built in cd player to it.

The install charge should not be over 200.00 if that.... a normal cd player is like 40.00 so some where in that price range is what you could expect to pay. If you have any more questions please fell free to email me HERE

Hope that this helps some....

thanx dude for da reply, so you mean if i want to have a LCD screen on my car, i should take off the cd player? well i have an EX sedan, so do i have to compensate my cd player jus to get da LCD screen? if there's a way to put my cd player to da compartment under it and den put da LCD screen on da cd player spot. i don't think you could put da stock cd player to da compartment under it becoz i think da compartment is smaller.
you mean to say $200 for installation only? so how much would it be for da LCD? and u mention $40 cd player, dash cd players? are u kidding me? maybe u meant da personal cd player wid car kit, well dats about $40.

geez mah azz will be broke.... give me more info if its really worth it. thanx dude

I mean that just the installation fee would be between 40-200 dollars not the actual unit
As far as price range, the CVA-1005 is 1200.00 give or take a 100 depending on where you go.
The CVA-1008 is going to be about 1800.00 give or take a 100. Then you will have to pay to get it
installed... it should not be more than 200.. I think that it will be more like 100-150.....

Here is a pic of a CVA-1005 in a 2k1 civic lx...below it is a Apex S-AFC ... I made a filler panel out of 1/2"
black plexi.. To fill in the gaps..

U should also consider just gettin an lcd screen so then u can just put a dvd or vcr or gaming system wiht it. that would probably be cheaper than gettin one of those in dash screens like boosted has.
