MP3 install...tell me if this sounds right

Right now I have an 02 sedan with a Pioneer 5500 HU w/ a pioneer 910 XM reciever in the trunk. I am attempting to use the "IPbus In" on my XM reciever to plug in RCA cables and then mount an RCA plug on the dash in the "switch port" next to the cigarette lighter. I figure I can use the RCA to "mini" adapter to plug the MP3 player into the dash. I already looked through the IPOD install info on the site but nothing was said about installing through a XM reciever. Thanks! I know that the Pioneer 5500 is capable of giving you RCA input through the use of the optional IP-BUS cable, but if you have XM installed then that IP-BUS input is already taken. I don't think that you'll be able to get AUX input into an XM receiver, that IP-Bus from the XM receiver is if you were going to use an FM modulator and the rca's wou;d go to the FM mod.

You can piggy back the IP-BUS input from the XM box, you use the IP-BUS port labeled IN, I think it is the BLue one. The module you need is called a CD-RB10 or CD-RB20. The difference between these modules is the 10 only has RCA inputs, where the 20 needs to be powered, and has another IP-BUS input on it.

CD-RB20 http://www.sounddomain.com/shop/item.pl?sku=PIOCDRB20

Hope this helps!

P.S. if you bought the CD-RB20 you could then plug that stright into the 5500 Head Unit and then plug the XM box into that unit, which would allow you to put the unit up front, insead of piggybacking off of the xm box wherever you put it.
