Remote turn on with stock HU

I was needing help with where to connect the remote turn on in a civic ex with a stock HU? I've read to connect it either to the cigarett lighter wiring or ignition wiring. If this is correct what colors are the wires and which ones are the positive and negitve. Thanks for your help. To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

if you take off the trim around the cigarette lighter, and unplug the lighter wires from the actual lighter, there are 2 wires. One is black, the other is some 2-color (i forget). If you look back there, you can see that the Black one is grounded to the frame right behined there, so the colored one is what you need to splice into. Then run that wire to the right under the carpet and then along with your power cable. I just did this like 3 days ago. Give this remote line a LOT of slack, though, because putting the trim back on takes a lot more than I anticipated. Hope that answered your question.
