Question NewB stock headunit question....

This is my first time posting, so I am sorry if this is like a totally out there kind of question. What I was wondering is, I am getting a new headunit installed into my 03 coupe and my dad was actually thinking he could possibly take my stock cd player and have it installed into his 96 accord -- he just has a tape player. Is the stock headunit still usuable after it has been removed and if it is, is that something that is even possible to do, or is there no way that it would fit? Thank you in advance for any help anyone might have! To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Unfortunately, Honda OEM Stereo plugs changed around 2000, so you wouldn't just be able to do a plug and play type of thing...and also I believe that the curve on the passanger side of the new civic radio would make DIN (I'm assuming the Accord has a regular Din hole, or at least a kit for one) mounting impossible without exterior modification. The stock unit should still be usable after it has been removed, provided you still have the keycode that should have been provided for you by the dealer on a buisness card type thing... Hope this helps...

Thank you I figured it wasn't gonna work -- myself I was thinking just the shape of it alone wouldn't fit, but I wanted to ask just in case.
