is it worth it?

My friend is offering me 2 JL 15w3's in a box with a sony xplod 800 watt amp for 200 bucks because he really needs cash. Are they worth the price? They are in good condition. To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

If you don't mind losing all of your trunk space i'd say it could be worth it to you. When you think about it, buying a box alone for two 15's or even two 12's for that matter would cost almost $100 for a cheap pre-fabricated box. But then again building boxes yoursefl would save lots of cash.

$200 for two subs and a box and an amp isn't a bad deal. i'm not a fan of sony amps but you could always upgrade in the future.

$200 sounds pretty good to me considering you could probably sell that stuff on ebay for more if you really dont like it in the end.

that amp is really underpowering those speakers, but like it has been said, you could probably sell the stuff later. those speakers themselves would go for 120-150 on ebay. as to your second question are they good subs, yes they are pretty good subs. if they're still in his car/truck, give them a listen before you buy them just to make sure you like them

the subs are nice, but like everyone is saying, that overrated amp is probably under driving those subs. for $200, those subs are worth it, and if you luck out, the box will be made properly, so you wont have to get a new box, all you will need is a better amp. as long as the subs are not blown and in good working condition, go for it.
