How Much to Lower

Hello all!
I've got a 2014 Civic and I would like to lower it a tad bit in the future.
I'm torn on how much, anyone with a 2012 or later civic have any experience lowering?

I was thinking something like 1" in the front and 0.5" in the back, but I really don't want to have really bad scraping issues.

I saw a kit that did 1.5" in the front and 1" in the back, but that looked a little too low (Although it did look amazing)

Any thoughts/experiences are greatly appreciated!

I don't know anything about the 2014 Civic but I have had lowering springs and coilovers on my 7th gem and can say that it is worth it IMO to get coilovers. I got springs after researching drops for months thinking that it would be enough. After a year I wanted to change the height and I couldn't. So I bought coilovers and was much happier with them.

Now for my Fit and I skipped the lowering springs and ordered coilovers for it. No more playing around

That's the beauty or adjustability. Wow that looks great that low but my driveway can't handle it so let me raise it a bit. I have not been having any issues at this height let's see how it is lower.

Re: How Much to Lower

An inch should not hurt, pending how the road planners at your area are...
Wait, that you Jordan. Depends on where in Canada, Montreal sucked with all the potholes, but that was my 02, the 14 seem higher. Where's were you again?

Re: How Much to Lower

Haha, must be thinking of a different Jordan!
I'm in the states, Virginia specifically.

In a city called Hopewell (Just south of Richmond)

Roads here are old, but fairly pothole free.
There are some NASTY dips in some of the neirborhoods, but I know where they are to avoid them (Made one hell of a ramp for our bikes when me and my friends were little haha!)

Re: How Much to Lower

Also, thanks for the replies! I knew coilovers let you adjust things, but I didn't know you could adjust the ride height at will!
I was already pretty sure I was going to get them, but now I'm certain lol.

How much do you guys think I'm looking at? $500, $700, Hopefully not more than $900?

Re: How Much to Lower

For good ones? The latter...

Sorry, lots of Jordan's here

Tricky part: when you change heights, it will change your alignment, don't recommend running too long without realigning

Re: How Much to Lower

Well it's all good, I don't plan on doing anything to this car that I'll want to change later, so if it means spending more now then so be it.

I actually looked up some and found the range to be $700 for the cheapest set, up to $1,700 for the most expensive (But that set said racing kit...dunno if that's just marketing, or the actual description :P)

Guess I'll get $1,500 ready and then go looking (Read about 6 months from now)
Right now I have a cruise to pay-off before buying any car stuff. Walking dead cruise to be specific!
Going a bit off topic here though...sorry, thinking about it gets me excited haha.

Back on the topic, if I ever changed anything I'd definitely have a re-alignment done. I know quite a few people who can get it done (and done right) for very cheap (Perhaps even free? Probably would need to super limit how often I asked that favor though lol)
