Why are Hondas & Acuras so popular to fix up?

Does anyone have links that would support a quote like.....

"Hondas & Acuras are the choice of tuners due to the large amount of aftermarket products available.........."

I'm doing my research paper on this sort of topic, so any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
ak

I think why they are so popular to fix up is that they are not very expensive to start to mod, also they are reliable and get good gas milage

because it's more commonly available, cheap and affordable

i think most of them started out as parents car and then the kid takes over and start modding it, and many family has at least one honda

at least toyota cna afford to put a dohc in every single one of their cars

i know that it is not the aftermarket selection. for a B18 it is almost $400 for a valve cover, when you can get 2 edelbrock ones for a 350 chevy for under $60.
Chevy parts are the most abundant and lowest priced. Honda's are farther up the ladder after ford, chrysler, and several other companies.

Thanks,

just put the number of different sites that there are for the Honda and Acura, there is tons and tons of information out there

www.7thgencivic.com
www.clubsi.com
www.honda-tech.com
www.team-integra.net
www.gs-r.com

I mean all these sites are dedicated to Acura's and Honda's, I know there are many more out there but those are the ones that I know of.

Look at all the aftermarket brands, they all have choices for Honda's and Acura's

www.aempower.com
www.comptechusa.com
www.dcsports.com

also the amount of businesses out there, again unlimited possibilities
www.modacar.com
www.tornactive.com
www.speedpeople.com

Another good point is that they are safe. I know my mom bought me a civic because it was safe and reliable.
Safety was a big concern for her and then me being able to mod it was just a plus for me.

You know why hondas are so popular tune they lasy forever
even if you dont treat them right . You could beat the piss out of our
d17 motor and it would still give you atleast 180000 miles . Its called
japanese enginering . True there not fast to start with but they can be very potent when the right parts are thrown in the mix . Also they are affordable to buy for college students making 10 bucks an hour like my self . Oh i forgot to mention they also look good .

Personally, I got the Civic cause it was a reliable car. Then I started getting urges to mod it cause everyone else has the same car.
