i know that it is not the aftermarket selection. for a B18 it is almost $400 for a valve cover, when you can get 2 edelbrock ones for a 350 chevy for under $60.
Chevy parts are the most abundant and lowest priced. Honda's are farther up the ladder after ford, chrysler, and several other companies.

for the challenge of making a slow car resonably fast, expressing your style, wanting to be part of a bigger picture ie the import scene, the looks u get, affordability, safety when driven properly, blah blah blah
Another good point is that they are safe. I know my mom bought me a civic because it was safe and reliable.
Safety was a big concern for her and then me being able to mod it was just a plus for me.
You know why hondas are so popular tune they lasy forever
even if you dont treat them right . You could beat the piss out of our
d17 motor and it would still give you atleast 180000 miles . Its called
japanese enginering . True there not fast to start with but they can be very potent when the right parts are thrown in the mix . Also they are affordable to buy for college students making 10 bucks an hour like my self . Oh i forgot to mention they also look good .
