The body of the colossal squid is much bigger than the giant squid, which can weigh up to 900 kg, 2,000 pounds when fully grown... the one in the picture is less than a quarter size of the fully grown one ..... probably baby colossal squid ...
no the males are usually smaller in the wild ...
