| I'm a first year ME student at UT Austin so I haven't gotten into the real hard classes yet, Just single variable calculus and physics. . . but beware of the Engineering Physics, thermodynamics, dynamics, multi-variable calculus, linear algebra, fluid mechanics, circuits, etc. . . there's A TON OF COURSES that are just there to weed you out. The course plan at UT for 4 years involves taking 16-17 hours per semester so almost nobody graduates in 4 years unless you go to summer school every year (or are some kinda genius). Just apply yourself and learn to budget your time.
No you won't be able to go out drinking every night of course, and some weekends you may go out Friday and end up studying all Saturday and Sunday. . . you'll figure out how to balance your time after the first semester. Just get your priorities straight and use alcohol on the weekends to dull the pain of classes.
EDIT: And if you want a girlfriend you won't have time for a job, and vice versa. . . so think about that. (I chose the girlfriend). And don't expect to find any cute girls in any of your classes. |
