Hey i was just wondering if anyone had a hook up for a job. ive been looking around and no one is really hiring. i need to get my foot in the door of the automotive world but no one will hire if you havent already work in the field. please help if you can. im in the I.E. But im willing to travel

Good luck finding a job. Thankfully I'm in school and don't have to go job searching in this crappy economy. Do what gearbox said or get a job at Jiffylube or something.

i can relate... i've been on the same boat as you before and i know how it is. it's HARD to get your foot in the door to a specific field. people are always looking for experience and degrees, one way or the other. well as some might've suggested, go get a degree or certification. that's always good to have. next is that you need to be willing to start at the bottom and work your way up, which is exactly wut i did. i've started at the shitty job, then based on recommendations and various attempts, i finally got hired at the computer field. now i'm a computer tech.

the thing is, unless ur really lucky and you got hired at a good position right away, you need to work your way up. just gotta hang in there and make sure your doing your 110% best all the time. people will notice your hard work and they will try to keep you. that's wut happened to me..

yea ive been going to UTI in Rancho but i had to drop out cuz i could afford not working. ive been looking for entry level jobs porters cleaners that type of shit. but no one will hire.

try a tire shop like lamb's or firestone. the are good for getting 1 foot in. you can't expect to be putting tools to critical components right off the bat with nothing to show for what you've already done...
or, you can join the military! guaranteed job

it's not a bad time to join... the war will be over in a year, and the new gi bill is kick ass. as always, if you want to stay stateside and have great technical training that is unparalleled, i recommend the coast guard. in all seriousness, they actually have a-schools for rates, and they are awarded annually. tracen petaluma got one from canada last year!
