I have already started a thread about mine in a diff forum. I am going to copy and past it over here to bring you guys up to speed on mine.
So I just got my first car the other day. I have always been around them, friends have had them and such, but never my own.
I figured I, like most of you, are never happy with things as they are. So I jumped right in with one of the big dogs.
I got the Losi 8ight-t At a Glance
Losi revolutionized 1/8-scale buggy ready-to-runs with the 8IGHT RTR based on the first genuinely new buggy design in more than a decade - the 8IGHT. Now they’ve done the same for ready-to-run truggy racers with the 8IGHT-T™ RTR. Starting with the same innovative ultra-narrow chassis and drivetrain layout as the 8IGHT-T Race Roller, the 8IGHT-T RTR packs power and handling superior to the competition right out of the box. Losi’s 427 Big Block engine and tuned exhaust come pre-installed, along with the premium Spektrum crystal-free DX2.0 radio system for unmatched control. The centrally mounted motor, oversized shocks, thick aluminum chassis and numerous other ingenious features yield both performance and durability. When it comes to combining ground-breaking design and race-inspired performance in a ready-to-run truggy, no one comes close to the 8IGHT-T RTR from Losi. Features

Here are some cool RC vids of my truggy. Well not "mine" but the one i have.
So I was out at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex today playing with my RC.
I was practicing jumping stuff, they had a couple large mounds of dirt off to the side.
I was getting pretty good so I would take them faster and faster...
Well you can guess how this ended. lol
I finally got brave and hit about a 4 foot pile of dirt at almost wide open, this would be about 50 mph.
I Broke the spindle carrier and the rear lower control arm screw.
I took some pics.
Here is the spindle carrier after I removed it.
Here we all fixed up
I then changed out the front and rear braces for metal ones.
Rear
Front
Here are just a couple other shots I took.
That is right, I have a 427 in my rc car. lol
I know les took some while I was at the park, I will have to see if I can get those up soon.
I will be replacing some of the key parts with metal.
I dont want too much metal though, if i crash hard enough to break a control arm, I want it to break. If it was metal it may bend a few other key parts instead... Just how I look at it, plus the metal is heavier. I have a friend who is on Team Losi. I get the actual Team Losi parts at little to no cost, so it is not a cost thing wrather a preference. I am just going off of his recomendations.
So I went over to my friend carls this afternoon and we, well he did I just watched, changed out the factory grease in the diffs, for oil.
I then left and headed to RadioShack, they had a 7.2v NiMh batt with fast charger for $10 on clearance. So picked that up. This will give me 3 7.2V batts and 2 receiver pacs. As you can see above in my parts, I have the fast charger on the way for the receiver pacs. Should be enough for a day of fun.
Can't wait to get out and bash this thing some more.
IDK, I changed the servos, then went for a test drive. It was smoking bad.
I kept adjusting the carb but nothing would help.
I then decided there may be some fuel in the exhaust so i would get on it and burn it out.
Well just as foos pop his....
I was kickin ass the all the sudden I heard a back fire and it came do a coasting stop.
I looked over at my friend who races for team losi, I was like that aint good is it. He said no, its not. When these things back fire at 40+ thousand rpm the dont live.
I tried to turn it over with my spin start but it was frozen solid. That is when he said well you need a new motor. Lets take this one apart and check out what grenaded in it.
Good thing I got the car from his sponsored shop and he can help me out. That is the only reason I am getting the better motor for free.
I have a T-Maxx mutated into a older gen Super Maxx. Its a basher truck, probably not good for racing. EVERYTHING related to the frame is aluminum. Have a Ofna Picco .26 engine, tuned pipe, etc. Only thing stock is the transmission, although thats had the reverse delete done to it. I didn't build it, I bought it as a basket case for $200 with a radio. Priced everything if I wanted to build another like it, and it totalled to over $1000. So yeah, happy with the price of that purchase. No pics right now unfortunately, but its a thing of beauty when its all shined up.
This new motor Has Sauce!
I went out bashing a little, here is the aftermath pcs. lol
I was out there for just over an hour, ran about 6 tanks through it, and broke NOTHING! lol...... I think I am getting the hang of this, now to just get it on the damn tack....
I'm excited! Looks like I'll be able to get my electrics up and running. Got a new buddy who should be able to hook me up with some parts. Nitro doesn't look like its going to keep being run. Cops have ran me off too many times.
