| Re: PS3 or XBOX 360, need advice how is ps3 too expensive?
$400-$500 compared to 360's $280-$450
$400 comes with 40gb HDD, WIFI, HDMI, can play ps1 games, sixaxis controller(tilt functions)
$500 comes with 80gb HDD, metal gear solid, dual shock 3 controller(rumble+sixaxis functions), can play any ps1 and ps2 game.
Internet is free, the system is very reliable. You can install Linux OS on your ps3. PS3 uses any bluetooth device(your headset, remote, keyboard) or you can use USB devices(up to 2 on 40gb and 4 on 80gb). And since all games are on Bluray Discs you can watch bluray movies or regular dvds. Ps3 is a quiet system.
If you don't go with the two higher 360 models you're stuck with a wired controller and no hard drive. If you want wireless internet for any 360 I think it's $50-$100 extra. One model has a 20gb HDD the highest has 120GB. Both include a wireless controller and a wired headset. 360 runs loud and very hot
Go with the system that has the games you want. Don't buy whatever's cheaper or more expensive.
I would like at games and reliability. Both of them are met to my needs from the PS3.
360 has more online users, but it's not like you're going to notice when you go on the ps3 that rooms are empty, because they never are. You have to pay to play online for 360 and you have to pay more if you want wireless. However the lag/in game speed is the same for both, although one service is free.
I also prefer the ps3 controller over the 360 controller. This has been my favorite design since it came out soon after ps1 came out.
-sports games are even NOW for both systems. What controller do you like to play with better will answer which system you want it for.
-there are more racing game for 360 since they currently have Forza and GP games. NFS is multiplatform, Midnight Club comes out for both next month or in October. I am a big fan of Gran Turismo and will have to wait until next year for the full game to get released, but I have other games that'll hold me over.
-action games are even. Do you mean like God of War type games or first person shooters?
Each system has a bunch of first person shooters, I call them ADD noob friendly games because they're all unrealistically fast paced games in congested maps with constant killing/dying everywhere you go. I prefer tactical games, where team work is a must, not just a bunch of rambo's that can win a game by themselves.
360 has Halo, and other multiplatform FPS
PS3 has Resistance. Resistance 2 is out here in November. Killzone 2 is I think February 09 and will be a ton better than the 1st.
Socom isn't a FPS, but if you played Socom 1 or 2 online you will understand and realize pretty much how any other shooter out there is the same. This one stands out and the new Socom Confrontation(Oct.14 $40 stand alone, $60 with a $50 BT headset) looks to match those 2. 3 and CA were ok, but Confrontation imo will be the best online shooter for a while.
action games I know 360 had ninja gaiden 2, but ps3 has heavenly sword(similar to god of war. Very great voice acting/cinematics/story), uncharted, ratchet and clank series, ninja gaiden sigma(remake of original xbox version)
Take all the points into factor equally, not just price:
-price
-reliability
-games
-controller design
-online features(if you're an online gamer)
go to gamerankings.com and view reviews of games you might like. They show one average score for each game, but if you click on it they'll show every score from all the reviews each game received.
go to gametrailers.com to view trailers/gameplay videos of existing or games coming out eventually.
and I use gamestop.com to see when games are going to get released.
