So I have been working in the operations administrative field for a while now. From account management to team manager, I have done a lot of technical support for the compant I'm currently employed at.
Recently, I woke up one day and said to myself "hey I think I want to get into medicine. Maybe a pharmacist.."
Now I have been debating with myself daily on what I should do and how I should approach it. I need to go to school for a good while with this goal in mind, but I still need to pay off my car. Perhaps a part time job?
I have been thinking about night classes online, anyone ever try these? I wouldnt mind taking online classes for a starter, as long as it is taken seriously. I dont party anymore, I just work and hang out at home. This makes me feel like it is the right time to make a move...

you can actually get a pharmacy Tech license really easy. Just get the books, study at your own pace, and take the exam when ever they offer it. Then you can start working in CVS/Walgreens and then go to pharmacy school. I took the exam once without really studying and missed it by only a hand full of questions.
Not sure if they've changed it by now (about 2-3 years ago) but thats what I did. They even sometimes have people teaching the class for like 500 or so. You just study and they help tutor/guide you and tell you how to take the exam to pass.
Oh cool. Thank you for letting me know. I have been thinking about this for some time now. That is a neat route to take though considering I study enough to pass. Did you just take the exam at a local college?

Just learned I can take two online classes. Pre courses required before I can enter the pharmacy class. I can take em at ACC too. This will help me out a lot since I am currently still working full time. I can manage a couple classes and full time, but no more. Too stressfull. It would be cool to make more money though. I need to evolve.

pharmacy school is 3 yrs, and its not cheap. i dont think you can do it online either. and in the end, youll be working at a grocery store
LOL! Optimism at it's finest.
No but seriously, if you're positive and you believe you can do it, AND you believe it's going to get you a good job, then that's what will happen. You shape your own reality based on your thoughts.
true, but most people do it for the money sorry to say. all you do is sit around all day behind a counter and fill useless prescriptions. has the potential to become VERY boring and unfulfilling. just for the 80-100k salary you get you have to ask yourself if its worth it. if it is, then go for it.

PM me if you know companies that are hiring.
Usually when I put my mind on a goal, I can acheive it, or come damn close enough. I understand the position and it's duties. I just want to work with medicine in a lab. If I can be in an enviornment I enjoy while making money I'm fine. I'm not doing it just to help people, but that comes with it. If not me, some other guy would do it. I thought I wanted to be an IT guy the rest of my life, but after 4 years of it without a degree (I ranked up by experience and contacts) I decided otherwise.
