i remember at the mid atlantic meet some of us were talking about a national meet. Was there ever one? Would you guys ever want to do one? im guessing we should do it in the middle of the country somewhere to be kinda even......i guess but Las Vegas or NYC would be a pretty damn cool place to have one i think

dude, we have enough trouble organizing a regional meet...a national meet is damn near impossible. well, i can only speak for M-A and northeast. im sure people in socal and norcal meet more frequently.
weve definitely discussed it on the board, but no one has ever stepped up and decided to organize it. the main issue isnt really where, but how to pay for it. i doubt anyone would front the $$ for a hotel and something fun to do, and no one is gonna organize it on peoples word that theyre gonna travel across the country for a meet.
oh yeah...that would be great....las vegas would be a good spot to gather...i know it might be lame for others and cool for some but how having some money donation or contribution or with a set amount to organize this kind event then the money goes to charity...just throwing some random suggestions....sorry if you dont feel my suggestion.
yeah, vegas is a good location. but then youre gonna have people under 21 saying they wont have anything to do there.
although, theres the vegas race track or something, so thats something to do also.
but i guarantee you, youre gonna have a good 30% of people be like that dude ^^ right there saying "have it at my town so i dont have to go anywhere"...
yea i figured there were going to be a lot of those posts and basically tried to pick a state where there is something intresting at....that i know of. Well if we did vegas there can be times where all the minors will be together while all of the 21+ people will be together and both at some points...not everyone who is over 21 drinks and gambles
Honda Tech has the annual meeting in Maryland, and tons of people show up from all over the country. Even Jpax from Oregon was in attendence there, here is the link. They all stayed at someones house and had a BBQ. If someone lives in like Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Western KY, HELL ANYWHERE!
i second it being in vegas (because i 'live' there when i'm not in washington.. lol) but have it in.. august or september of next year.. lol.. i wont be out to sea..
hell if we were going to do it, why not pick and do it in tenn.? do the dragon run w/ the s2ki members . but seriously, how many 7thgeners do you think have time to just take a weeks off of work for a 2 or 3 day meet? i bet you almost everyone on this board is probably either in high school or college and are pretty broke, or well this college student is. like pfoot said, a regional meet is already pretty dam hard to organize so a natinal meet...and even if it did happen, im pretty sure they would be very little cars show up.
hey man us 7thgen guys dont have as much money as the viper or ferrari even the s2k guys...its hard to organize lol

i was thinking about a national meet just the other day...
is ohio really in the middle? i was thinking more like Kansas or Missouri was the middle of the country.
i dont know. i just tried to remember a map and thats what stood out. so i said Ohio.
regardless i dont think it could happen cause of the amount of time it would take to drive there and back. Ohio is a 10 for me, not including traffic. so yeah.
i probably wouldnt go to a meet if it was held in MO, KS, OH...no offense to anyone that lives there. i dont think thats a destination spot for many people. everyone i talked to who did a x-country trip said they just blew through there because theres nothing there of interest.
there are two ways that this meet would work, i think:
1 - its structured around something where people dont need their cars. so its basically a people meet, not a car meet. then people can fly in or whatever so they dont need to take a week off of work.
2 - its at a destination spot where a lot of people will want to go. doesnt need to be a big city, but if we can get a race course to ourselves and have like a driving school sorta thing going. (this is probably the more expensive option)
but, no one is gonna front the money to rent out a race track and all that. and hotel. plus they dont typically rent out to just random groups, and were not a car club, soooo....
The purpose of a meet is to have the cars there, lol, renting a track? ummm i'm gonna put that down as a def. no, i'm sure a track will cost way to much, or is already booked.
Ohio is not bad at all, there are plenty of things to do, We could have a meet and go to Kings Island, or else go to Cedar Point (Worlds Largest and Top Rated park in the country)
