A teacher in Brick, NJ who was caught on video (from a student's camera phone) screaming and yelling at students for being disrespectful during the school's playing of the national anthem.
This incident is getting a lot of media attention for two reasons.
Reason Number 1: Was this teacher out of line for the way he acted? Not only did he scream at students in a very loud and aggressive way, but he also pulled a chair out from under a student who was sitting down while the song played.
Reason Number 2: Should students be allowed to bring cell phones into schools or classrooms? If the student didn't have his camera, this wouldn't be a story! Some teachers are saying..."Leave the phones at home! We don't want to be caught on tape!!!"

a55hole teacher. Teacher was way out of line. No one can make you stand for the anthem. Cellphones are cool as long as you don't talk on the phone during class

So people arn't dying for your "bullshit" freedom ... I'm not even American, but i would never sit while that or any national anthem is being played .. Total disrespect .... Its obvious this was set up, the kid just happened to be taping this?

Some people dont agree with what our country is doing and therefore do not want to honor the country they dislike.
Thats the whole principle our country was founded on, a nation to be free of religious and idealogical tyranny. By saying you must conform with everybody else defeats the whole purpose of our "free" country.
That teacher was way out of line and I respect that kid for walking out on him.

Lol...segregate .... no, the student was the one who segregated himself by sitting while everyone else stood .. he chose to be different ... I have no problem with that, other than , he lives in the country but he feels he doesn't have to stand for the anthem ....
