WTF!!! What do you guys suggest? Please only mature answers - Lawyer?

Alright, I signed up with a hosting company, www.globat.com

I spent like 350$ for a year of service... Well, their service sucked

and I canceled my account in 3 days

ive been waiting 22 days for a refund, they say there refund department is "slow"

i used to have globat hosting... i loved their service... why did you not like them? they kept adding stuff onto my acount...everything was fast and they gave me more than i paid for

Send them a Registered letter and get them to sign it with you stating your disatisfaction and their money back policy...

Tell them they have so many days or you will be taking legal action against them...

In writting it will save you for sure

ha, my site was up and then down for 2 days for no reason... The main reason for me canceling my account was because i didnt need all of its options, so i wanted to just down grade it but, they couldnt do that, so i canceled it.

when i canceled they had some n00b call me up 15 days later and say, "we want you to stay with us, we will give you a year for free! thats a 150 value"

Well, I paid 300$... and now their site sells the package for like 200$

so, I rather get my money back..

Ive called them plenty of times asking for a refund and they say their billing dept is slow...

there is still no hard record, could just be some guy playing with him self on the other end saying (in a nerdy vocie) sir we will get to that as soon as posible we are slow in that aria and are looking to fix the issues.

Dude call the better business bureau and report them. After you make a complaint the company will be notified and then hopefully the company will contact you and fix everything so they don't have any bad reputation. I've heard once you get w/ the bbb you get treated better. if that doesn't work get a lawyer. good luck

Any way you can tape your conversation. That way when the 30 days are up and they say you didn't ask for a refund you have them on tape. Just before you start the conversation, just let them know you are taping it.

bbb doesn't hold as much power as it used to, especially not here in Canada (the toronto chapter closed a while ago) and this definatly isn't worth a lawyer. Its a small claims matter, getting a lawyer to even look at this case would be like more then the hosting.


Best way, send a formal letter registered this way you have proof that you didn't like the service, from there you have to keep harrasing them, if they still refuse the refund, you can atempt to do a charge back on your visa assuming you paid by visa, its a process that takes a while and a formal letter to visa but its possible for a charge back.

If that still doesn't work your only opition is small claims court, small claims court is a little bit less formal and you can represent yourself without a lawyer (in fact some small claims courts have rules against lawyers at all)

other then that, yeah there jerkin yer chain, services don't cost them extra just how they make there money.

Get nasty.
