like 2 years ago we had a blackout for like 9 hours or something crazy like that. all of NYC and much of the northeast was completely shut down. it was fun.
Thats nothing... I remeber times in the Philippines when power was gone for 2-3 days at a time...

4 years ago we had an ice storm, the power at my house was out for 9 days and the temp was 20 or lower outside the whole time. lucky for me the stove and hot water heater is gas. it is a shock when you get out of the hot shower though.

We had tons of hurricanes this past summer in MD and the power was out for days. All the food in our fridge went bad and we had to shower by candlelight and cook on a gas grill.
