Presidental Candidates

Reading Prod's post about Stern talking about Howard Dean prompted me to start this. Who would you vote for President right now. Being March 3rd, who would you vote for. Vote in the Poll. You can reply, but I dont know if members want to read a long winded post about your choice. In short just say who, and why in a little paragraph.

i really dispise bush and what he's done to this country. i think since kerry is the only one who stands a chance, a vote for anybody else might as well be a vote for bush.

edit: and of course, i clicked the circle and hit a key on my keyboard and voted for the wrong guy. just goes to show why i shouldn't be voting i guess.

I was in American Honors Government today, and we looked over a list of what a huge group of historians has said it the definitive list of best and worst Presidents. Here's what shocked me a little bit... Abraham Lincoln was ranked as the #1 Best President of the United States ever. Clinton was ranked 23rd or so - one slot under George H.W. Bush (Daddy Bush.) George W. Bush isn't on the list yet because his term isn't over.

So why did it shock me that Lincoln was #1? Well, you see, Lincoln was a Republican. Most educators are Democrat. Now, the Democrats are criticizing Bush because the economy is bad, the patriot act infringes on civil liberty, and he used troops without an official declaration of war.

Guess what Lincoln did.

-Had a terrible economy. It's hard to keep the dollar up after a massave attack, you know?
-Suspended the writ of habeus corpus. In plain terms, he decided people could be put in jail without having charges brought against them.
-Used troops in "unconstitutional" ways using the ideas of the Elastic Clause and the War Powers Act.

Anybody wanna put bets down that in fifty years Bush'll be regarded among the ranks of Washington, F.D. Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincon?

^nice post, good point.

Also, Feb 18, 1999. Former President Clinton waged a massive attack against Iraq, reason ....? "Weapons of Mass Destruction" . So, Bush was not the first and not the last to use the now famous phrase.

Did Clinton ask the UN for support?

I would love to see Bush in office. He, to me, is the best president for our Military. Even though you all will argue about what he's done in Iraq. He saw a problem and conquered. The way the American eye should see things.

SO, after that being said... the lesser of all evils.. i don't support ANY of the runners.

Your turn Noob.
Well, you did not really state a reason on why you like Bush...... you just stated that you are a close minded mummy who does not think about or question the actions of our leaders.

Do you have any real reasons on why you like Bush? Did you feel the same way when Clinton was in office...... did you support Clinton too just because he is our president?

Well, if you did then you are indeed a narrow minded moron who makes decisions based upon misinformed political views.

So once again, what are some reasons for your liking of Bush? Reasons, examples..... information.... what did he do that you liked?

BTW, I do not really support any of the candidates running.... I'll have to research everyones goals/plans before I make my decision.
