Alright. Two questions actually. They both deal with Satan.
1. Satan used to be an angel, right? But he decided to go against God and was banished to hell, right? Ok. What was his name when he was an angel? I've heard it was Lucifer, and I've heard it was Samiel (probably spelled wrong... pronounced "sam-eye-el").
2. I've always heard that Satan is the cause of evil and that he is in charge of hell. If he is in charge of hell, does that mean he's helping God out by taking care of all the bad people when they die? That makes it sound like they're working together like friends. Or, if he's in hell as punishment for something he did as an angel, and if it's his punishment why does he get to be in charge of it all?
Thanks.

I'm getting some information from my friend Chris in IV, he knows more than me since i just recently took God into my life.
1. It is Lucifer considered to be the first sinner ( 1 John 3:8), i looked that up, and according to Chris, he was the best of the best angels and fell or banished because he wanted to be like God and wasn't happy with just being his creation
2. Here is what Chris has to say about this question: well that is a whole issue inside itself that i havent even come close to figuring out, i dont believe that he is the cause but i dont want to get my brain into that right now. but he is definitely not in charge of hell. and he is not even in hell right now either. in Job satan actually goes to the throne room of God to have a chat about Job. so from Job 1:7 you can see that satan moves about the earth but also can make it to the presence of God. but when Christ comes back to judge the world, Satan is gonna be public enemy number one. he's definitely not going to be in charge of hell, but cast down in the lake of fire. i dont know if there are different layers of hell, but if there are, im sure he'll be in the worst one (that last statement about different layers of hell is just my opinion not really based on any facts though)
i quoted him on that...copy and paste...gotta love it
and my opinion:
since he was cast down, because he wanted to be God, he is trying to get his own followers and trying to make people sin, which is an everyday occurence, but God has grace and will forgive someone if they ask...ok a bit off topic...but thats all i'm going to say

Then to hell you shall go. Usually heaven and hell are beliefs that deal with god, so if your worried about going to hell, you usually do believe in god. If you dont believe in god, then you usually dont believe in hell. I personally dont.
what happens when you die?
you just sleep forever?
that kinda scares me.
i dont believe in god either. well i used to, but i lost faith.
i think the whole christian / catholic faith is to scare people into being good so they wont goto hell.

since they dont believe in God, that would be a whole different belief system...i would ask an atheist about that. I have a friend who is an atheist and we had this discussion a while back, but i didn't understand him...
ask someone that atheist or agnostic...and i would think non believers would believe that there is no heaven or hell...so when you die that is it...no life beyond death...you go six feet under and stay there til you completely decompose or a flood happens which makes the ground soft and the casket pops up from the ground because of the air inside and you float away
Let's keep this thread on topic. I want to know the answers to my questions. There are other threads for debating religion, what happens when you die, etc. Or you could start a new one.
