Just figured you might wanna go stone them before they have a chance to repent. You don't want to spend an eternity sitting next to a masturbating angel do you?
uhm God knows we sin. He gave up his son so we could sin and be forgiven if we just ask. Humans are not perfect and only 1 has been free of sin and that is Jesus who we all should thank for saving us. It's natural for Humans to sin and we just can't help it.
ya think? And yet, here you are...trying to explain Christianity to people...(you don't have to worry about me, I did my 4 years of intense study thank you) and while I applaude your missionary zeal to "get the word out", SOME of you need to watch the "holier than thou" tone you are portraying, which unfortunately many professed "Christians" have. The straightforward statements mean more face to face than typed unless the reciever is in the spirit.
Oh, and quit with the "What would Jesus Do" stuff. Christ's frame of reference was one of authority and power. They were HIS words and actions. I understand the sentiment to choose the right thing to do...but some people take it a bit too far. Everyone is criticizing the Muslim fanatics...well guess what? There are Christian fanatics too, people ready to take things way too far. The Roman Catholic Church learned that lesson...that Church is responsible for more murders, tortures, genocide, etc than ANY faction of the Muslim religion. I am getting a bit sick of people that have not even bothered to crack another religion's scripture to find out what they truely believe. It is like this stupid email goin around about what the 9th Chapter, 11th vers in the Quran says. The e-mail would have you believe it is something about an angry eagle, when a simple web search will tell you the truth. Jews getting pissed off about "The Passion of Christ" because Mel Gibson wanted to put together a historical depiction of what happened and make it as real as possible. Guess what? The Jewish people tortured and killed Jesus Christ. The rabbis felt threatened by His Ministry...the Romans said "do what you need to"...then they tortured and killed a man the Christians believe to be the Son of God. The Jewish people don't believe He was. The Muslims don't believe He was. The Buddhists DEFINATELY don't think so. Neither do the Hindi's, the Pagans, the Naturalists, and a plethora of other...well ALL other religions besides the Christian faith...don't believe He was anything other than a man. But the Anti-Defamation League is actually worried about "Anti-semetic" leanings because of this move. I didn't see them raising a stink when "The Last Temptation of Christ" came out.
I respect your beliefs, I really do, and I have said this before, and I actually find it humorous, Christians do not take the time to read and learn about other religions. Zealot Christians are quicker to condemn and name false any other belief than theirs rather than view the overall similarities. The Muslim religion is about peace, love, and obedience to God. The Jewish religion is about peace, love, and obedience to God. The Christian religion is about peace, love and obedience to God. (See a pattern here?) The fine points of how that is accomplished is irrelevant.
Anyway, I am done with this, everytime I get into one of these with some of you you instantly go back to semantics and trying to interpret the Bible or other scripture to me. I know what the book says...I have read it and many others. I understand what it says and how different life situations bring out different meanings. All I am saying is "Don't close your mind and not revel in the similarities of all religions". They may not believe in your god, or in how you worship your god, but we are all creations of Him. Telling someone they are damned is judging someone. Inciting some fear response in a person is detrimental to Peace, they will try and defend themselves...which escalates and escalates and then you get the Middle East. Live and let live, talk in rational tones about your beliefs and be open and understanding to other's view points. The first time someone tells someone they are wrong is the break down of the conversation.
eh....grrrrr Like I said I am done. Carry On.
/kicks my soapbox away

You did your 4 years of intense study? I am not one to talk, and I commend you for such dedication. But do you think that four years of studying Christianity is equivalent to a lifetime of studying it? Not that I have studied it well enough [for no one has], but I think it safe to say that priests might be more knowledgable in the subject than one of us. Better yet, do you think that studying a lifestyle is the same as living one? History courses require the study of World War I and II, but we won't really know how it was like unless we lived it ourselves.
Zealous Christians would be the last to condemn; in fact, they wouldn't condemn at all. Judging others is highly refuted by Christianity, and I apologize for any miscommunication on my part that led you to believe I am speaking with a condescending tone.
If u read the previous posts, u will see that we have admitted that even christians aren't perfect and that we sin also. Pastors and priests are still human. They aren't perfect. That's why Jesus died for everyone's sins.....
I'm with l00pb4k. I'm not trying to offend anyone either or pretend that I'm holier than anyone.
Right now I'm of no religion. Which is why I've been studying, reading, talking to people, attending all these churches. Which is why I can say confidently what I have found in my research.
I want to be more religious, I want these things to be part of my life. I wasn't raised religious so the only thing I have to go on is what I know in my heart to be true, and what I learn about the different denominations. Hopefully I will be able to one day decide what I beleive is the right way to go.
From what I've learned through my experiences I know that I am closer than ever to making my decision. However, the reading and self-teaching continues so that I'm sure of where I need to be.

This is correct. Even the Pope isn't thought to be perfect. Peter (the first Pope) himself denied Christ 3 times. (Matthew 26:69-75).

I still think it's messed up that a person can be a good person and still go to Hell.
Anyway, has anyone noticed that we have different branches of Christianity arguing on here? Some people say "Accept God into your life and you'll go to Heaven regardless." Other's say "Accept God into your life and you'll go to Heaven IF you try your best to follow his words."
It's also kinda weird how some religions (I forget which) say masturbation is bad. Um... that's kind of like saying peeing is bad. And all us guys know what happens when you go too long without ejaculating (either through sex or through masturbation)... your body does it for you while you sleep.
