a one hour documentary on "noodlin" aired on PBS tonight and it was loaded with southern white trash and their beloved method of fishing. they believe the best way to catch a 60lb catfish is to swim up to known noodlin' spots and reach around underwater until you get bit or grab a fish. the best noodlin' spots are areas near shore with lots of cover, which also happen to be popular spots for animals like beavers, alligators, and snakes so this leads to many scars and noodlin' stories to tell the relatives.
it was funny to hear the noodlers talk though, because they would refer to the "rod & reel" fisherman like they had it all wrong.
they kept pulling that me against nature crap but it was ironic because it ended up being me, a bass boat, some duct tape, and occasionally scuba equipment against nature.
here are a few pics from the recent noodlin' events
they may be white trash but those are some BIG ASS fish. When was the last time that you caught one that big? So, what I say is keep on keepin on white trash honkie brotha!
