Question Aftermarket Headlight Installation on a Civic 03' coupe...?

This is my first time installing headlights. i'm going to be installing these...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...411985530&rd=1

the ones i'm installing are black housing.

so anyway, am i going to need to take off the bumper in order to install the lights?
if so, how difficult is that going to be.

Does anyone have pictures possible, or instructions on how to install these lights?

or should i just go to the Honda Dealer to have them installed? Any help is appreciated! Thanx

you have to take the bumper off to clear the OEM headlights, so i'm pretty sure you'd have to take it off to install new ones. don't go to honda to get them installed; just do it yourself. i'm sure there are plenty of people here that have done it themselves, and it's probably pretty easy...

blah, isn't there a diy of clearing headlights somewhere in this site? and doesn't clearing of headlights require you to remove bumper? and why does it require such a trivial task? because the headlight maybe is attached to some stupid bar behind the bumper? and so in the end to remove the headlight at all you have to remove the bumper? sigh.

Very easy, just pop out all the snaps on top of the clip. Then there is a screw inside each fender and all the screws under the clip(about 10 or so). Then grab the clip were it meets the fender and slightly pull, it will pop out each side. Same as under the head lights just slightly pull. Then there are four bolts holding the headlight in, two on top, one on bottom, and one on the side. Just make sure when you install that you dont get the wires caught under the headlight.

Those head lights off of eBay are just the same as the stock lights, but the housing is black. You could have saved yourself the $150 and cleared & painted them yourself. Maybe you should have searched before you spent your hard earned money.

Edit: Link to DIY of clearing the head light corners and front bumber removal

thanx to the few ppl who actually did try to help me. i just happened to stumble up on this website just the other day, and finally noticed the DIY section. so i wont be going to honda for installation. as far as the lights go. i haven't bought them yet. but i feel i still am going to. I looked at the DIY section for the headlight clearing. and noticed that at the very end of the steps, the headlight is into 4 pieces, with one of them being the part that just simply needs to be painted black. but i dont know. i'll decide soon.

and for HCivic02. Thanx for the immature remarks. Everyone starts somewhere dude. and ur calling me a noob. lol. you remind me of a 13 or 14 year old wack kid back in the day, playing Counterstrike or something. LOL. and by the way, your screename on here is HCivic02...uh. Honda Civic 2002? WWOW. what a creative name! who really is a gay noob? yeah. its ok tho. there's always people like you everywhere who gotta say stupid shit like that. Have a Day.

Later Days

OK no need to flame back reflekt, as far as the headlights its not hard to clear them but i bought a similar set as you are thinking about just so when i sell the car they have the choice of the clear ones or i can part it out so no need to DIY unless your sure you dont want to sell the car later one. Welcome to the site and screw the haters, your right gotta start somewhere and flaming isnt gonna get you anywhere

lol. you're totally right dude.

anyway, thanx for the advice on the lights. i was going to go with the TYC's, but i just like this stock black housing look better. it's more subtle this way. but dont get me wrong, the TYC's are very nice too. anyway.

peace

I was thinking about the TYC but i love the way these are designed. Simple yet they attract attention.
