the secret weapon is a disappointment. I thought it would be better than that.

Well can't argue with dyno results. Here's my K&N typhoon sri before and after on my 2k2 ex auto. There is a small power loss in the lower band, but thats only for 500rpms.

note: the "after" dyno was done on a day when the temperature was 20F higher than before.

AEM V2 -

Fit: 5 (Fit perfect, first time I installed an intake, took about 40-45 minutes)
Power: 3 (Ive heard people say intakes do nothing, but I swear that I get better pull)
Loudness: 5 (Loud for an intake, the rest of my car is stock as far as anything that could make noise, people who know jack about cars have said "Do you have an intake or something?" lol)

still shows that intakes do very little.

the AEM v2 sounds great..for sound wise i would give it a 5..it's not too loud and it doesn't have like a hissing sound constantly..only when you gas it...i like it makes your engine a bit louder... in performance wise..i think i noticed a small gain

Aem Sri

Put the AEM SRI on a couple of months ago. I'm happy with it.

Fit - 4 -> Could be better, but no big deal.
Power - 3-> A bit of an increase from 4k - 6k RPMs
Sound - 4 -> Not the loudest I've heard, but pretty loud. From 3k - 5k RPMs at WOT it makes aa awesome growl, especially if there's buildings or a tunnel for the sound to bounce off of. I barely have my stereo on any more I love the sound so much

reading this thread, and seeing how much an improvement there is.. i am thinking of getting a reusable K&N drop-in filter instead, should improve yet retain its quietness

K&N Typhoon SRI

Power:3 can see increase a bit in low end up to high end where i can see the most

sound:4 pretty loud at WOT but still hear it a bit when cruising

Fit:4 was pretty easy except the fact that the hose clamps for the hose on the tb was a pain in the butt to get on + u needed an allen wrench which isnt all that common in my house but had one thank god.

OBX SRI

fit 1 it didnt come with any brackets. the sensor plug didnt fit had to jerry rig it to make it stay. Ihad to zip tie it in 3 different places and they break once a week.
power 2.5 gains are there above 3000.
loudness 2.5 You cant really hear it but then again my VTEC kicks in so early that its hard to hear it.
misc. Its loose as hell I dont like it its crap it really doesnt take up too much room but it really doesnt have anywhere to lock down to keep it secure. there is a mounting spot on the intake but it doesnt come with any hardware and the location on the intake doesnt fit with anywhere on the engine.

go with the Injen CAI, that's what i'm getting in a few weeks. I have the AEM SRI and it is just ok. Low range power loss but it kicks in the higher you go. CAI's have better low rpm power where SRI's are good for the upper ranges. I've had two cheapo ebay intakes, learned my lesson...sorta...bought the SRI and now realize what I should have done all along, got the INJEN CAI.

MUGEN POWER
Fit-5
Power-4
Loudness-4-pretty damn loud
really feel the difference, had aftermarket bypass valve installed, kind of hard because the pipe where it goes is curved so it was a pain in the ass to put on, but it fits good after some manuevering

don't think I'm getting the Injen CAI...only because I feel that its a waste of money for the small gain I'll be getting over the AEM SRI I have now...I will be getting the dry flow filter from AEM though and a heat shield...IMO if you have an auto and have NOT gotten a intake yet, go with the Injen CAI BUT if you have already bought a SRI then don't waste another $200 for small increase...going through a bunch of metal pipes is not worth the $$$. Do it right the first time or just be happy with what you have I guess.

If you think that thing you got is a Mugen intake, pick up the satellite with the laser that scratches your ass from space as well.
