Custom axle back 2" no muffler with 3.5" resonated tip

Fit 5 (my exhaust shop rocks!)
power 2.5 ( a slight difference @ low end; BIG above 4k)
loudness 2 (slightly louder than stock)

This started out as a joke when I took off the muffler one sunday. My neighbor came over to see what pricey exhaust I had finally bought and was shocked to find that it was just the stock 1.5" piping and resonator. This is a cheap mod for people who want to actually hear their motor. The sound ? Deep occasionly farty at part throttle and completely silent while cruizn'. But under acceleration it sounds just like a freakin' cup car!!! awsome!

Just installed super 40 flowmaster catback on my 01 4dr, and i love it, sounds sooo good, and although flowmaster is more domestic it has done me well so far, only about 2 hours ago however.

fit 5 (perfect fit, other than having to cut the rear bumper to keep from melting
power 3.5 could be better, could be worse

sound 5 - just had my resonator removed, and holy sh^t it got louder, and throatier, now it rumbles!!

i installed the HKS hi-power a few days ago. i didnt want an exhaust that would be an ear buster on the freeway, so i opted for this one. subtle, low rumble, but it barks when you get on it.

fit 3 (hangs low and i gotta get the pipe adjusted)
power 3 (some low end, picks up at 3-4k)
sound 2.5 (low rumble, but loud when u want it)

if you wanna see pics and a video clip peep my exhaust thread.

i still cant decide what damn exhaust to get dammmit. looking for deep quiet sound, wont set off car alarms, but best for performance. i have a DNX muffler and custom piping but the beeytch is too loud. i set off alarms left and right and its sound is inbetween rice and deep.

any suggestions????

magnaflow catback: low deep bassy tone. not ricey loud. Mid-High RPM range for a mild increase in power. You wont have that "cruising on the hwy" tone either. This is loud if you floor it.. but only when u wind it out

Power - 3 (mainly high end)
Loudness - 1-2
Fit - 5 (4 if u have rear sway bar.. it rubs)

Himoto Cat-Back (you can find em on eBay no problem)

The baffle in the resonator came loose but I'm fairly sure the salt over the winter had a large part in that.

Fit: 5 - Bolted right up in about 10-15 minutes. Needed a slight tug to the left so as not to hit the bumper.
Power: 3 - Fairly noticable, especially in the mid range RPM's.
Sound: 5 - Perfect low rumble, pretty quiet during regular driving but sings around 6-7000. I didn't realize how awesome it sounded until my Dad took off in it the other day.

All in all it was a good buy, somewhat pissed with the baffle but shit happens. If I can find another cat-back that fits my car I might try it to compare though.

Thumbs up

Flowmaster kit 17335

Fit:3
Power: 3
Loudness: 3

Fits exactly where the stock muffler was. I did notice some power gains. It is almost as quite as stock when idling but a little louder than stock when you open it up. It does not sound ricey, which is what I wanted. Very happy with it.

Skunk 2 T-304 stainless + (megan racing high-flow cat)

Fit: 5 boletd up perfect with highflow cat

Power: 4 (with high-flow cat)

Loudness: lets just say i'm on my 3rd noise pollution ticket, nice deep sound.

Over all rating: I would highly recomend it. Only problem, when it rains my exhaust rattles off the bottom of my car anybody else with the same problem??????

update on my review 12/23/06:

apexi world sport I

fitment: 4.5 perfect fit but the muffler would shift around and hit my rear lip over bumpy roads (its not my suspension)
power: 4 after removing my apexi and installing the OEM back on, i noticed the rpms didnt jump as quick. i also did a full throttle test and felt that the apexi wsI didnt take so long in first gear to get to redline compared to OEM.
loudness: 2 quieter than most aftermarket catbacks but louder than OEM of course. the sound of my short ram intake gets louder than my exhaust above 4k rpms and the engine itself gets louder during redline. sounds very mellow and low. i had a buddy drive by in my car and

and speaking of exhaust, a hi flow cat/test pipe really helps. i used to have the megan test pipe and it gave pretty good gains. but it made my apexi sound kind of ricey hence the reason why i removed it. becareful choosing a hiflow cat/test pipe though!

and if your wondering why i put back the OEM exhaust on, because of thieves at my workplace. removing all the eyecandy from my car
