:: sigh :: another exhaust question.

You're going to have people saying 'IBTL' or 'SEARCH' or a sarcastic comment.

You'll also get opinions that HKS is crap and basically your question won't be answered.

You might as well not even bother check this thread again.

well on the HKS note, who ever says hks is crap is an idiot.

I have the hi power, which is the same as the hyper. The exhaust is awesome, has a very unique sound to it, and if you buy a mid section from optauto.com, you can have a full cat back that sounds hella mean

HKS only makes an axel back for our cars. Look it up and you will see some pics.

Here's a link for those who need a midsection and want to convert their HKS into a bolt on cat-back....

I reccommend PM'ing Dezod first to see if he can get you this exhaust. Tell him madwheel sent you. If he can get toucan he'll do anything he can to help another 7thgener out...

i have the toucan. maybe their mufflers suck, but the midsection is just a pipe. there really isn't any way to make a pipe of the same diameter sound different. i guess different bents would cause a different sound, but underneath the civ, there's only one way for the pipe to go. It's a 2.5" with a highflow resonator, that'll add a ton of sound to any rear section exhaust out there

the axleback by itself doesn't make much sound. in fact if you have an intake, you'd probably hear that over the exhaust.

once you throw a midsection on there though, it sounds great...in fact the best sounding exhaust that I've ever heard!!

the only complaint that I have is that it hangs too low...

I have the HKS Hi-Power Axel back too. I love it! Just like everyone said, just the axel back itself is very quiet.

MADWHEEL- is that mid pipe for an EX or LX?

It works on my EX but bolts up after the cat. I guess if you bought an EX header and downpipe you'd have a pretty decent setup
