Updated Performance Review

Another update (I have a lot of posts in this thread).

I think my ECU just finished adjusting to this mod. The other day I was driving after having it installed for about 200 miles and all of a sudden everything seemed faster. I'm talking about more power throughout the entire powerband! I hope it stays this way. This is strange, because I reset the ECU after I first installed it. Oh well. I like it better this way, anyway.

I also got 31mpg on my first tank of gas after installing this (probably 60% highway driving and 40% city driving, but lots of high revving the whole time )

Its like when an exhaust has to break in, you have to wait till it burns out (all the shinny stuff on the inside turns black). Reseting the ECU really wont do much for a mode like that.

Where did you get the header from?

Well, the header had about 5,000 or so miles on it (I was told) when I bought it, so there was nothing to burn out really. I got it used from Keigo (a member here) for $130 US. You can get them new on eBay for like $169 shipped.

runner1738, I hope it's street legal. I assume it is cuz you keep your stock cat.

Yeah, I got about 31 but that might change since it seems to have readjusted the ECU after 200 miles or so. I also have a K&N FIPK II.

HYPR DRV will become famous soon enough

If any of you don't need to worry about emissions, then I highly suggest going with the full HP header, downpipe, resonator (hi-flow cat) set-up! I have an exhaust and an intake and it really doesn't make it much louder. Nice deep tone, if anything. And best overall performance you can get outta this mod. Two thumbs up!!!!

I have an LX...and was thinking about buying the top piece of the HP header and putting it on, then goin to meinike or some muffler shop and having them weld on a hi-flow cat past the stock midpipe or so....and put the 02 sensors there

Anyone done this? Know how much it'll cost all together, $300-400?
