More information about the Volant CAI system Post if your interested in one
Well i just found out that the production of the Volant CAI was put on hold. (I dont even think they tested the intake completly on their test car. Thats why i belive everything is on hold.
This is what a retailer said:
"Volant moved their manufacturing facility several months
ago and will not restart the assembly of the Civic intakes until they have
"fit-checked" the intake to make sure the manufacturing process is correct.
We called Volant this morning and were told they are waiting for the test
vehicle, and assuming there are no problems, they could be back in
production soon. We have this product currently on backorder and should
receive them as soon as they start production."
With the request of YS, Im gonna put up something for a future group buy so i can have the seller get a vendor membership. This thread is just to post information about the volant intake and see who's interested in one...The future group buy is $15 off 250(shipped) for 10 people in the group buy. $25 off 250(shipped) for 20+ people in the group buy...Lets see if theres 20 ppl interested.
The only results i could find about the intake is that it gave an equal amount of torque and hp. They said 8hp/8tq. So Im assuming you wont loose your low end(possibly gain) and you will gain high end with this intake. Post your questions here.
Here is some pics of the volant intake:
If your wondering what everything is: check the attached image:
so far we have : ..... need at least 10

NICE!!
as i told u befor, im totally in..hehe
my dad doesnt want me to touch my car, he doesnt even want me to change bulbs to brighter ones..lol
so if i install this intake, i think he wont notice it..cuz its almost looks similar to stock one..huh? but i like its looks!!
think its kinda expensive but not really overpriced..
8hp/8tq is good also..still its their measure..right? hm..haha
since i never drive over 4k, i want low end more than high end..
oh heres my questions..
what kinda air filter follows this intake?
do i have to buy one or does it follow in package?
if it does, will it be good one?
and..i dont 100% understand what u wrote cdmex cuz my english is not good..seems that u r saying..they havent test this intake to our cars thus they havent made ones..right? do we just wait until they are done? but it seems to fit perfectly in the pic..huh?
i doubt if there are more than 20 ppl whos gonna buy this..but I HOPE SO..PLZ COME ON PEEP~~~lol
"Volant Ram Filter: Cleanable and reusable high grade filter media reduces air restriction and increases engine output. Precision pleat geometry optimizes airflow throughout the intake system."
I think it looks like the K&N type square filter.
yes its a good one...just like the square K&N drop in filter.
No it's a cone...Check out this page: 7th gen intake pic That pic shows the 7th gen civic intake that will be produced. It show it being an cone filter (thank goodness) Oh, and I'm in on the group buy for sure! Keep me posted
Check the link I posted...That's the intake for our car's it has the word's " up to 18 Hp and more miles per gallon" below the pic. It has the cone filter showing through so you know what kind of filter it uses. I don't see how you missed it
I'm pretty sure its a cone, but if not it doesn't matter to me. I am definitely in on this if we can get it done. I was also thinking I might leave the lid off and cut a whole in my hood right where the box is so I could get true ram air. What do you guys think?

that BIG PIC is not for 7thgen Civic Intake (it's for Dodge Ram '02-'03 ) ............. but yeah, i'm sure it's cone type filter according to the BIG PIC

lol
yeh same thing here..
i was like "where the hell did it say this intake had a cone filter????"
and i never saw pic had a cone filter either..haha
he was talking about the one for another car..
but by looking at that pic, i can guess that the one for our cars will look same with that one..
How much extra would it be to ship to Canada? If its nothing or not much more I'd probly be down, and if my ticket (65 kph in a 40 kph zone) gets thrown out (cop wrote down wrong name on ticket, told him, he changed it on my sheet but I don't think he changed it on his and I have decided to plead not guilty, so I dono whats going to happen) I'd be down for sure!
Ohh ya, any advise about the ticket deal is appriciated!!
we already got 10 peepz? good~
10 more..hehe
can we make any better deal? like 50 off for 20ppl..hehe..
j/k..just hope so..
cdmex and ys plz keep it updated..
and make a comment to make it to stick around the top..
Since I currently have an AEM CAI, do you think I would have to "put anything back" when switching to this intake? I'm thinking the same parts would probably need to be removed for all the aftermarket intakes.
