Question USB port no longer works

I've used my 2011 civic coupes EX's USB port (in console) 5x at most, mostly for charging a tablet.
Yesterday the tablet read "not charging" while plugged into the USB.

Haven't a clue how to fix it, or where to start, so I made an appt with Honda dealer to get it fixed. Bad idea?

Anyone got an idea how to fix it?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: USB port no longer works

First try connecting a completely different device to the USB plug, see if the car is really at fault.
Then try plugging in your device (tablet) into a different USB somewhere else just to make sure it's not the tablet or its cord that's faulty.

If you only need a USB plug in for charging a device, just pick up one of these adapters for a couple bucks and plug it into the lighter socket (power outlet)

These things must be dirt cheap and must be available almost everywhere, I probably have a couple dozen various examples scrounged from used car trade-ins.
