Rep Power: 0 Power windows have no lights 2012 Civic
Hey guys,
Posted this for my girlfriend. She has a 2012 Honda Civic. Just the basic sedan. It has power windows and power locks, however the buttons don't light up in the doors. I am trying to find out if they should light up and there is a problem, or if there simply aren't lights in the door whatsoever.
I tried searching but couldn't come up with an answer.
Thanks!

If it weren't for the freezing rain I'd run outside and check my 2014.
Tomorrow morning I can answer for you, but as far as I remember I think they kinda glow in the dark, but the only light is on the window lock button.
But I barely ever pay attention to them.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Power windows have no lights 2012 Civic
I've had my 12 Civic for more than 3 years and in that time I have never once lost track of where my power window switches are.

OK seriously, it's like 2*F here and I'm not gonna run outside to check....
If it has a drivers window with "auto" then I'll guess the drivers switch is illuminated but the rest aren't. (There's a light shown in the diagram but I can't tell if it's for one or all.)
If it doesn't have "auto" then none of switches are illuminated.
The kiddie lockout switch button has a light in both of the above.
EDIT: It may be an indicator light instead of illumination?

You didn't get video of the answer for the OP? LOL
At my house it was raining/sleeting/iceballz/snow all day Sunday and 32-33 degrees most of the day...then got crappy overnight. When I hit the road on Monday at 5:30AM it was a sheet of ice under a light blanket of snow for the first butt-clenching 50-60 miles @ 20-30 MPH. I don't think I actually saw pavement once in that entire time. Once I got past the next major city the roads got better.
Is butt-clenching considered cardiovascular exercise?

Lol I feel silly for not checking.
Getting the car cover off was...interesting, to say the least.
Idk if I'll upload that video or not, I'm not exactly graceful slipping and sliding the whole time.
Nowhere near that cold for me, sticking right at 26 last night, high is supposed to be 32 today, so it's gonna melt then re-ice tonight.
I love snow, but hate ice...
ice= all the hassle of snow, with none of the fun(at least for us FWDrivers)
Anyways, guess I'm going off topic here.

Oh, and if it makes anyone feel better. Where I am it's gone down to about -40 this year. We're sitting at about -22 now...

Re: Power windows have no lights 2012 Civic
There is no light on so I'm guessing a bulb is burned out.
Also, I was looking in a US diagram and car. IDK if Canada got the same stuff, but I'd expect it's the same.
The wiring diagram looks like it has an LED, not a bulb.
