If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: System setup HELP!!!!
Don't try to mess with the radio and navi units, they are tied together, one can't work without the other.
YES, you could tap into the rear speaker wires like you would with only adding an amp and sub on any other stock radio in a car.
Which car do you have (2 or 4 door, LX EX EXL Si, etc.?) Some have a factory amp under the center of the dash.
Does the car already HAVE a sub in the center of the rear deck? Tap into that and then you can control yours from the deck like stock. (IDK what the spec for the crossover point on the stock sub is though).

It's sooo much easier to look up info for a particular car IF I know what the particular car is.
4 door EX navi shows no amp.
I would have tapped in the wires right at the rear speakers, not at the radio. But OK.
Speaker outs (not line outs) at the back of the navi/radio
Connector A, 17 terminal, gray
LR+, A11, yellow
LR-, A2, brn
RR+, A16, blu
RR-, A8, orn

Re: System setup HELP!!!!
Idk if this post is irrelevant now,but I have an '06 with a system...
I got through the firewall using a hole that was already there(Hole was in the sheetmetal, but I had to puncture the carpet like material to get through)
And like e-zone suggested I tapped into my rear speaker wires to hook them up.
I also put 6x9's in
If this post is still relevant let me know and I can post pictures.
